Who we are

Here's the deal, Journey Church cares about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is our Vision. The Journey is a family of individuals that have found a life in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom.  We believe that the community can be Transformed by His Love.

Where we come from

Journey Church was started in April 1988. Back then, Rev. Glen Hargrove of Estill Springs Church of God commissioned several families to start Winchester Church of God.  It started in a living room in Decherd TN. These families envisioned a church that was truly welcoming to everyone - where everyone had a seat at the table regardless of personal history, family background, ethnicity, or gender. We went through two name changes, first to Winchester Christian Center International and then to The Journey at Winchester.  All along this 30-year journey we called our livestream, Enjoy the Journey.  As we began to discover the Kingdom of God and community involvement, The Journey name fitted perfectly.  We are not affiliated with any major denomination.  We work diligently to connect with all churches in a network of the Kingdom of God.

Where we're headed

What's the bottom line? More than ever, The Journey is committed to fostering a family built around Love. The Love of the Father transforms the Hopeless, the Helpless and includes them in God’s Family. No one is too Hopeless or Helpless for God to step in and change everything. 

Experiencing God is the beginning.  Loving God.  This is Inspiration to Engage and Invite the Friends in the Community, Love your neighbor.  This inspiration includes new family by Embracing them as family by Loving One Another.  This inspiration moves us to Excel in our knowledge by instruction and teaching in the Bible, by Loving God’s Word. This inspiration moves us to Equip family individuals through their gifts and passions as they get in Involved in Ministry.  Love the Church and Community. As we move forward, inspiring, inviting, including, instructing and involving we build a Family of Ambassadors of Christ, Transforming the Community through Love. Loving God, Loving Our Neighbor, Loving His Word, Loving the Church and the Community.
