Why The Righteousness of God?

1.Judgement is  In Your Favor

2.

3. Why the Righteousness of God?

4. Go back to the Beginning

5. It all started with an eating disorder

6. • The moment we realize that sin is the source of our pain and God is the

source of our pleasure,

• We run from sin and run to God

• We believe God is the source of our pain and that sin is the source of

our pleasure

• Therefore, we run from God and run to sin

7. • He took who I was in fallen Adam and nailed it to the cross.

• I have become dead to self and alive to God

• They turned from God who was their source of life and turned to self.

• They became dead to God and alive to self

8. 22Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to

know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree

of life, and eat, and live forever”—

Genesis 3:22 (NKJV)

Note:If they partook of the tree of life in the sinful state they would stay like that forever.

9. What Tree are you eating from?

10. 5For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man

who does those things shall live by them.”

Romans 10:5 (NKJV)

11. 5You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man

does, he shall live by them: I am the LORD.

Leviticus 18:5 (NKJV)

Note:In Romans 10:5 Paul was quoting Leviticus 18:5. He is showing that the only way you could

fulfill the laws requirements was to be perfect. No one was ever justified by the law. The law

just points out that you have sinned.

12. 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 3:23 (NKJV)

13. 10For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is

written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are

written in the book of the law, to do them.” 11But that no one is justified by the

law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.”

Galatians 3:10-11 (NKJV)

Note:The law puts you under the curse. Remember the curse from Genesis 3.Leviticus 18 5 (NKJV)

In Romans 10:5 Paul was quoting Leviticus 18:5.

Remember the curse from Genesis 3.

14. 16knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in

Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by

faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no

flesh shall be justified.

Galatians 2:16 (NKJV)

15. 8For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves;

it is the gift of God, 9not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV)

Note: By Grace he made everything Brand New as in the Beginning. He did this through destroying

the body of Sin inside our spirit and gave us the spirit of Christ to guide our lives and reverse

the curse thinking that so ingrained in our flesh.

16. 10And the commandment, which was to bring life, I found to bring death.

Romans 7:10 (NKJV)

Note: The Law was to bring death. The sentence for breaking the law.

17. 6who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the

letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

II Corinthians 3:6 (NKJV)

Note: The New Covenant brings Life.

18. Why the Righteousness of God?

Note: Remember in Genesis 3 that if Adam ate of the tree of life he would live forever in the state

that he was in.

19. 6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin

might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Romans 6:6 (KJV)

Note: God through the cross for us as us destroyed the body of sin, the old man. And made us new!

So that now we can partake of the tree of life and live forever. Eternal Life!

20. 24“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him

who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has

passed from death into life.

John 5:24 (NKJV)

Note: If you have never received Jesus as your Savior, Today is the Day.! Just ask Him to come into

your heart and today will begin your eternal walk with him. Romans 10: 9-10 9 That if thou

shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath

raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is

made unto salvation.

Pray this Prayer: Lord, I confess today that I am a sinner and ask you to come into my heart. I

believe that you died on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins and I now accept you as my

Lord and Savior! According to your Word, “I Am Saved”!!
